I wouldnt worry – you’re only likely to encounter true Aussie slang in the outback. If you do come across a term you don’t understand, just ask the person and you might end up having an interesting conversation! But learning slang is by no means necessary in communicating here. I live in the city and rarely come across ‘Aussie slang’. In fact, in the cities there is more American slang than anything.
