What aspects of society need to change in order to justify the term evolution?
By definition, a revolution is when one reigning government is overthrown and replaced by a new/different government. (Example: Many monarchies (governments ruled by a single king/queen) were overthrown and replaced by (usually) more democratic governments due to social unrest.) In a broader sense, I suppose you could say that a revolution occurs when the beleifs and ideas about a specific aspect of society are quickly and drastically changed. (Examples: sexuality, gender equality, religion, racism, or healthcare.) I’d say that when most people use the term revolution they are also describing something that they believe is progressive or, in other words, a good change.
