What arguments do you have for why christian creation should be taught in school?
I don’t consider anyone educated unless they know who God is. Whether you choose to serve God or not, is up to you. I like Einstein’s comment that he wasn’t contradicting religion. He was just trying to understand how God did it. I think the Bible generalizes the creation perhaps because the language of Biblical times was not advanced enough to define the method. If you take the Bible literally, there are things that are impossible to understand. Like how could there be day and night on the first day when the sun and moon didn’t get created until the fourth day. And who was there to take notes as these things happened. If you take the theory of creation as a concept of how things came to be, its a neat little package. If you want more detail, you have the theory of evolution. Neither theory is pristinely perfect. I don’t think either theory should be taught alone. And neither theory should be taught as literal fact. Perhaps in all fairness, Greek mythology should also be taught since A
Creation is a relevant theory, albeit a religious one. It deserves the same respect and attention in a classroom that evolution does. As a christian, actually a Catholic, who also believes in evolution, here is my theory. God created mankind through evolution.
Evolution is amazing. Think about what it really takes for evolution to occurs. Billions of years of microscopic changes to the DNA of a species. Evolution is real. Evolution is the hand of God.
