A survey carried out in Summer 2003 by mosquito experts showed mosquitoes in a radius of 1km around Mogden. Mosquitoes have been found breeding in parts of Mogden, but they do not live in or breed in the sewage. They are also found in nearby gardens, allotments and road drains where stagnant water is available for them to breed. They tend to cause problems during summer and autumn.
