What are your views on replacing plastic and paper shopping bags with bio-degradable cloth bags?

It’s happened where I live. It is illegal for shops to give customers light-weight plastic shopping bags. You either have to bring your own bags, or buy cloth bags at the store. I think it is excellent! Plastic bags take a long time to degrade, and they are notorious for breaking when filled with heavy groceries.

That’s fine but I prefer paper bags. You can reuse them and it’s a renewable source. Plastic bags, however, are evil and should be killed.

I am all for it, and we made the switch some months ago. Plastic and paper bags should be outlawed! They not only pollute the environment, but are virtually indestructable. If we’re going to save our environment we must biodegradable!
