What are your thoughts on the B-52 aircraft crash at Fairchild Air Force Base?
I do remember the crash and there was a most interesting news investigative report on network TV. From what I remember the pilot had a number of safety calls before this fatal crash. There’s video of him doing a very low pass and at high speeds nearly clipping the top of a hill. If I remember correctly the Executive offer of the unit also died in the crash because he said that only he would fly with the pilot in question; fearing for anyone else flying with this guy. The official cause was crash due to wing-stall caused by attempting a turn that exceeded the B-52’s maximum bank-angle for turns.
