What are your opinions on the .260 rem in Tikka T3 lite?

I have not shot the .260, so my opinion may not be worth too much. I will limit my comments to ballistics, etec. I LOVE IT. I might get one someday. It has excellent performance properties on deer, antelope, etc. Perhaps underpowered for elk. That one would be debatable. There are some good choices out there for factory ammo. If you handload, the sky is the limit. Now, for some not so flattering comments – It will never unseat the .270 for popularity. There are some things that the .270 is jsut too good at. So, it will always be in the shadow. It won’t service the heavier bullets like the .30 calibers guns will. In some people’s mind that is a deal breaker. Again, you will probably get people that wrinkle their noses up and give a weird look as if you were a little off the beam for choosing. tikka’s are excellent rifles. I know two guys that own them. I have shot them in .30-06 and 7 mm. Both handle, cycle, and shoot very very nicely. Hope this was helpful. Shoot safely and often.
