What are your observations on the recommendations of Irdas Committee on Distribution Channels?

A committee constituted to look into this aspect has submitted its recommendations. We have approved the recommendations on April 29. A number of modifications has been recommended. Now, it is only a question of a notification and we will notify them. What is the current status of the insurance sector? Penetration levels have gone up substantially. In terms of percentage to the gross domestic product, its contribution has increased from 2.32 per cent eight years ago when the insurance sector was opened up to 4.8 per cent in 2007.
