What are your next steps? What is the government prepared to do if levels of sea lice indicate they are posing harm to wild stocks?
A6 The next steps are to finish the 2004 sampling, perform the data analyses, have the findings peer reviewed, and communicate the results to partners, stakeholders and the public. That process will guide future actions. There are currently Fish Health Management Plans required by the province and reviewed by DFO which contain sea lice response plans. These will be reviewed by MAFF and DFO Fish Health staff in light of any findings of harm for improvements, and for any additional measures required.
