But they realized that there was already too much competition. Korea is a much more developed country and they have much more to offer than low-cost manufacturing like production of silicon chips. What they decided to do is to get into digital media. What was the rationale? Korea has probably the largest domestic video game market in the world. Two of the biggest multiplayer online games are Korean, with millions of players all over the world.
