What are you top ten favorite names for girls and boys?
There are numerous lists produced that claim to state the most popular names for boys and girls; some of the links below might be useful. From personal experience though, when my wife and I discovered that we were going to become parents about eight years ago, and subsequently learned we were having a daughter, we bought the book “35,000+ Baby Names” by Bruce Lansky (ISBN 0-671-51975-1) – Amazon link below. My wife went through the girls names and highlighted in pink all the ones she liked. I did the same with a blue highlighter and we ended up with a short list of about twenty. From there it was really easy and we settled on Kerry Hannah. Hope this helps and good luck !!
For girls Olivia Leah (those too are very popular right now, so I wouldn’t use them, but they’re still good) Elise Laurentia Silvia Freya (although I would probably not name my kid that, i just like it.) Yvaine Eithne Mae Josephine Lucia/Lucy Boy names Lycurgus Laurent Eugene (Gene for short) Sigmund Gilbert (Gil for short, like Gil Elvgren) Rainald Wat Tyler (like the guy who led the peasant’s revolt in England) Gavin I really like old English, Irish, Scandinavian, or German names. And names from Mythology. They all have meanings like Silvia means “from the forest” or Sigmund was a guy that killed a dragon in Norse mythology. So that’s why I like them. My kids are going to get beat up alot though.
