What are you favorite indie rock and new rave bands?
My favourite are a bit obvious: Arctic Monkeys Franz Ferdinand Yeah Yeah Yeahs I have lost my faith in indie music a bit now, it all sounds the same. There are loads of bands and all they seem to want is to be someone else. These three are bands that I think have done something quite different (although they’re not all that different) to everyone else. Arctic Monkeys – alot of people say they are overhyped and maybe now that may be a little true but their first album deserved every bit of praise it got, if you listen to the lyrics they really suprise and amaze you, (particularly if you are British), ‘A Certain Romance’ is one of the few songs that can actually make me cry-although I’m not entirely sure why. Franz Ferdinand – I have heard that it is no longer ‘cool’ to like Franz Ferdinand, pah. They have some really great more serious ‘rock’ kind of songs like ‘The Fallen’ and ‘What She Came For’ and they are quite arty and have some songs like ‘Outsiders’, ‘Come on Home’ and ‘Darts of
