What are you doing to help people who have difficulty filling in the form?
A Census telephone Helpline (local call rates) will be available from 1st April until 30 June 2001 to answer any queries callers may have about the Census. Where more direct help is needed Helpline will inform a member of the Census staff to arrange for assistance to be provided. Background Census field workers will undertake a community liaison programme in the months preceding the Census to ensure greater awareness of the Census and to encourage participation. Members of the voluntary sector will also be asked to be aware that some members of the community may need assistance to fill in their Census Form. Where appropriate a Census enumerator can revisit to assist those who are unable to complete their form and can be contacted via the Help line.
