What are working papers?
Working Papers are pre-publication versions of academic articles, book chapters, or reviews. Papers posted on this site are in progress, under submission, or in press and forthcoming elsewhere. Although, as far as we know, this is the first Working Papers series in the field of Classics, such series are very common in other academic disciplines. Working Papers are offered on this site by the author, in the interests of scholarship. Working Papers are not refereed. Papers in this series may be in various stages of completion – this is why the “Version number” is indicated on the cover of each paper. The form and content of papers are the responsibility of individual authors. The format (other than the cover sheet) is not standardized. The quality of these Working Papers is not guaranteed by the Departments of Classics at Princeton or Stanford, or by the organizers of this site, or by its local coordinators.
