Whey protein concentrate is a protein that has less fat and lactose. It has anywhere between 29% and 89% protein depending upon the product. As the protein level in whey protein concentrate decreases the amounts of fat and/or lactose usually increase. Whey Protein Hydrolysate is another name for Hydrolyzed Protein. Hydrolyzed Protein is protein that has been hydrolyzed or broken down into its component amino acids. It is often used as a food additive and flavor enhancer because it contains free glutamic acid.
