What are we, the owners, expected to do?
Owners are expected to help us keep the home safe and habitable for the tenants. At the beginning of the management, we will review the home for repairs that can minimize your expenses in the future, and enhance the safety of the home. Many owners find it less expensive to perform the initial repairs themselves. However our contractors are available to assist owners as well. You can expect some routine services to your home to comply with the Washington’s Landlord-Tenant laws or to ensure safety and minimize future repairs. These include items such as: cleaning chimneys to fireplaces and woodstoves, servicing furnaces, cleaning gutters, repairing appliances furnished with the home, re-keying the locks between tenants. Additionally, items such as deck cleanings, roof cleanings, septic pumping, and painting are some of the more costly yet occasional maintenance tasks that must be performed.
