WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO … SAY ABOUT THE DEATHS OF INNOCENTS IN GAZA?
The news from Gaza today is catastrophic. It’s horrific. The deeply worrying story is that between 30 and 40 have been killed in a UN Medical School in Gaza. Inside a school. A place where children under normal circumstances would be considered safe. But today Gaza is anything but normal. It is a war zone. Three schools have been hit today in Gaza. So what are we supposed to do? What are we supposed to say? Apart from throw our hands up in horror … we’re supposed to feel the Gazan people’s anguish, pain, despair, hatred. And we do. We’re supposed to shout “STOP!” to Israel and to Hamas. And we do. We’re supposed to blame Israel. And we do. We’re supposed to blame Hamas. And we do. And then we pause and think. No amount of saying and doing will get us anywhere. We know that, in our heart of hearts. Israel, whether right or wrong, has made up her mind.
