What are we doing about recreation special events?
A. The use at recreation special events will be reported on the Recreation Special Events and Organizational Camp Use Form. This report is due to the Southern Research Station every quarter. See your Interviewers Handbook for more details. Q. Our Forest puts on major events during National Fishing Week such as a fishing derby. These events definitely increase the use for that particular day but the exact day is not predictable a year ahead of time. The event would not get counted on the Recreation Events report because its not a special use permit, since its sponsored and run by the Forest Service. What should we do? How do we list this on the spreadsheet? A. We suggest the following: 1) create a new site with the same site name as the regular site but add a word that indicates its for the fishing derby day (ex: Walton Lake Derby Day/Week).
