What are waivers/waiver claims?
Waivers are a process designed to make player acquisitions fairer for you and your league members. If your league is using waivers, any player who is dropped from a team does not immediately become a free agent available to anyone who wants to claim him. Instead, this player goes on waivers for a set period of time during which owners have the option of submitting a claim for the player. At the end of the waiver period the player clears waivers and goes to the owner with the best waiver position who entered a claim for the player. If no owners submit a claim for the player, that player then becomes a free agent and can be picked up at anytime by anyone. A player can be placed on waivers anywhere from one, two, or three days depending on your league settings. This will allow any owner interested in picking up the player enough time to submit a “waiver claim” for the player.
