What are waitlists?

0

Waitlists are lists containing names of students who wish to add a class. They are not officially enrolled in the class until they have been moved from the waitlist. Waitlists are created during registration when a class has filled up. Once a waitlist has formed, you cannot add yourself into the class, you can only add yourself to the waitlist. A batch job runs nightly to move students from the waitlist into the class in the event of an opening. Once the waitlist has been exhausted, you can then add directly into the class. You can only waitlist during registration. On the last day of registration, all waitlists are purged and then students must obtain permission from the instructor to add classes during late registration. Many faculty distribute permission numbers based on your order on their waitlists. Waitlists are distributed to faculty when the term begins. You are not enrolled if you are on a waitlist.
