Vespa (Italian for ‘Wasp’), due to the sound of the engine. Air cooled by a fan. Made by Piaggio (Italy). Cheap to run. Road Tax for 12 months is (to date), £15. Unleaded fuel (tank is 5ltrs) £4-50 / £5-00 (to date).
Engine sizes are (UK market), 50cc – 200cc standard. Various colours.
PX model ended production in 1998/2000 (?) although being the most popular.
Can be bought from dealer in region of £1,700 – NEW. Second hand from £500 – £1,500
