What are verb infinitives linking verbs?
Verbs infinitives are verbs in their “pure” form, before conjugation for gender, tense, or number etc. For example “to do” or “do” is the infinitive form “doing” or “does”. A linking verb does not describe action, instead they link the subject of the verb to the rest of information in the sentence. For example “Sarah is singing a pop song”. Is connects the subject. You cannot alter “is”. “Ising” isn’t something you can do. Definite and Indefinite articles are technically adjectives. They are the simplist adjectives. “The” is a most common definite article. It does not alter in the English language. It specifies an individual rather then a general. For example “the glass” as opposed to “a glass”. Therefore an indefiniate article is the opposite. It is the general “a” in this situation. For example “a glass” as opposed to “the glass”. An adverb is any word that modifies another word. For example “David walked sideways”. Sideways is the adverb that altered the verb (to walk) A preposition
