What are Vegetables, Herbs and Organic Gardening?
The term vegetable refers to the fresh, edible portion of a herbaceous plant such as the roots, stems, leaves, flowers, or fruit. These plant parts are either eaten fresh or prepared in a number of ways. Herbs include all herbaceous plants as distinguished from woody plants, and is the name for any plant that is used medicinally or as a spice. Organic gardening is the practice of raising plants without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers.
