What are various theological views on human nature?

0

A few of the many positions… Some believe that to be human is to contain the divine. This position holds that God is in everybody and human nature is God’s nature. Some hold that human beings are immature gods that can attain our full divine potential through one means or another. Another position holds that humans are basically good, but not divine. Yet another holds that good and evil are two sides of the same truth and human nature is a balance of ultimate good and evil. The traditional Christian position is that man is created for fellowship with the divine Creator, but this relationship is interrupted by sin. Most churches teach that humans are sinful by nature and by choice. The designed relationship with God can only be restored by someone qualified to pay the penalty for a person’s offenses against God – and that penalty was paid by Jesus. Perhaps other users can list other positions.
