What are user groups?
User groups are created and handled by Administrators. User groups are groups of users that divide the community into manageable sections forum administrators can work with. Each user can belong to several groups and each group can be assigned individual permissions. This provides an easy way for administrators to change permissions for many users at once, such as changing moderator permissions or granting users access to a private forum.
User groups are simply lists of users. These users may be colleagues, collaborators, or simply members of Connotea who appear to have common interests. Anyone may create a user group and add any member they like. On your personal library page, you will see a list of groups of which you are a member. By clicking on a group, you will see a list of all the references saved by all the members of that group. This is a very convenient way to create collaborative reference lists or keep track of what a group of colleagues are reading.
