What are two good monologues for a high school audition?
Elizabeth’s Monologue from Defying Gravity by Jane Anderson. You can find it on the internet. It is from a published one act. The first line of the monologue is, “Whe I watched my mothers ship take off, I saw it go striaght into the sky and disappear.” It is not exactly a shy monologue by it is a sad one. I found these in a monologue book called Young Woman’s Monologues from Contemporary Play. Some I do believe they are form published plays. 1. The Baptist Gourmet by Jill Morley. The character is Tulula. This is a very fun monologue, but I requires a sourthern accent. It is a woman hosting a religoius cooking show. 2. Junk by Melvin Burgess. The character is Gemma.
