What Are Treble Hooks?
Fish hooks are devices used for catching fish. As the name suggests, it is hook shaped and has a barbed point so that the fish cannot just wiggle it free. The parts of a basic fish hook are the eye where the hook is attached to a line or a base lure, the shank, essentially the straight part of the hook directly connected to the eye (this is not always straight depending on the design or purpose), the bend, the point, and of course, the barb. Fish hooks have been used by man for thousands of years. There are records that men used fish hooks as far back as 7000BC. And as the materials used in creating fish hooks have also varied through the centuries. Wood, bone, stone, shells, iron, bronze, and various other metals were used; non-metal hooks are stilled used in some parts of the world today.
