What are transportation options for the area?
Houghton is serviced by Mesaba Airlines (Northwest Airlink). The Houghton County Airport (CMX) is located 15 minutes from campus. Remember to return the transportation form that comes in the mail so that we know when your son/daughter will arrive. We recommend you contact your airport, the airline (1-800-225-2525 or check out their web site at www.nwa.com ), or a travel agent for flight information. Houghton County is on Eastern Standard Time. Greyhound Bus Service is also available to transport students (1-800-292-3831). Supervised charter bus transportation will be available for an additional fee from selected locations in Michigan. Charter bus requests can be made on your application. Please indicate your need as soon as possible as seats will fill on a first-come first-serve basis. Round trip riders will be given a preference at $250 round trip; one-way seats will be limited at a cost of $150. Both with a $25 non-refundable deposit.
