What are Translation Memory or CAT Tools?
Lingua Solutions employs industry standard “Computer Assisted Translation-CAT” or “translation memory-TM” tools. These are not to be confused with machine translation. TM tools allow human translators to reuse text already translated from one project to the next and can provide large savings for your projects. Provided that all source files are submitted in electronic format, previously translated segments become available and are leveraged to be used for new or updated source material. Once a translator begins his/her work, the software shows the memorized translation as a possible match whenever similar text appears. Our translator then decides to either use, edit or alter this text as the final match.
