What are trackbacks?

0

Trackbacks seems to be a way to run a conversation about an entry but not put the “comments” as comments on the original blog. When a visitor to you blog reads an entry and doesn’t want to comment on your blog, that person copies the URL displayed when clicking on the word trackback and writes her/his own entry. That person then puts that URL into her/his entry. That then will increment the Trackbacks counter from, say, zero to one (0) to (1). When you, see it incremented on your blog, you click it and it should to show the other person’s entry about your entry. If you want to notify someone that you wrote an entry (trackback to the other person’s blog entry). You click the trackback on that person’s blog, copy the URL and, in your entry, put that URL. This will “ping” the other blog to see your entry about that person’s entry.
