What are topographic maps? How do I order them?
Topographic maps show the elevation at the earth’s surface, as well as roads, quarries, towns, lakes, rivers, and other features. Very detailed topographic maps (drawn at a scale of 1:24,000, so that one inch on the map equals 2,000 feet of actual distance) even show individual houses.
