Don’t be afraid to bounce the ball against the wall or fake your opponent out. Missing the ball on purpose can tease your opponent into moving, thus giving you a space to shoot for. • Be persistent. If your opponent blocks your shot, try again… and again… and again. Do keep in mind that your opponent will do the same. So be prepared to be on the defensive for a few moments. • Don’t spin. Let me say that again. DON’T SPIN. Spinning catapults the ball into parts unknown. While this does put your opponent at a loss, it also puts you at a loss. Spinning just means that you don’t know what else to do. • Don’t think too much. This sounds a bit contradictory given the above 4 points. Typically foosball players can be broken down into two groups. Those that play recreationally (occasionally at bars, cheaper home brand model players) and players that take the game seriously (ranked players that have been to tournaments either locally or nationally).
