What are toggles, barrel clasps, S-hooks, lobster/spring, and magnetic clasps?
Toggles are a type of clasp that has an open circle (or other shape) for one piece and a bar for the other, and the bar fits through the opposite end. They come in a wide variety of sizes and styles. A barrel clasp is a type of clasp that one end screws into the other. An S-hook is a clasp in the shape of a fancy “S”. Lobster clasps are in the shape of a lobster claw and spring clasps are round and hook to a ring on the other end of the jewelry. Magnetic clasps have magnets at each end that hold on to each other. They hold very well on light necklaces and bracelets and are easier to use for people with arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
