The Treaty of Versailles left Germany in a bad positions since they had to pay retributions to the other nations it had wrong in WWI. Germany like the rest of the world was in the middle of a sever economic depression. Hitler rose to power during this time and gave the German people a scape goat. He also began to break the Treaty of Versailles by building and army then retaking the Rhine (an area that was seized by France at the end of WWI but was Germany’s main industrial center). WWII began with Hitler’s invasion of Poland. England, Poland’s ally declared war.
