What are those green dots and triangles on the Backgammon board?

These shapes only appear once you roll the dice but before you move your pieces. As you place your cursor over one of your pieces, green triangles appear next to the points where you can move that piece based on your dice roll. If no green triangles appear, you can’t legally move that piece.
