What are the working hours in Greece?
In Greece, siesta is sacred, especially in the summer! Shop opening times are adapted accordingly: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 9 a.m to 2.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Public services and banks open at 8 a.m. Super markets stay open later, typically till 9 p.m. These times vary slightly according to whether it’s winter or summer, with summer opening times being longer. You need not worry though, as you will always find kiosks and small kiosks (“periptera”) (“psilikatzidika”) selling almost everything you can imagine at all times. You do not risk going hungry in Greece!
