The Weibull distribution is a theoretical distribution frequency = f(wind speed) which is a good approximation of most of the wind speed histograms. It includes two parameters: the shape parameter and the scale parameter. This approximate distribution is used for the turbine formula instead of the full histogram which greatly simplifies the calculation of the wind turbine power output.
