Madison City Commissioners have passed Ordinance No. 1352 regarding watering restrictions. No watering of any nature may be done within the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm. Consumers having even numbered addresses may water on even numbered calendar dates. Consumers having odd numbered addresses may water on odd numbered calendar dates. Watering may begin at 7:00pm and end at 7:00am the next morning. Upon application by a property owner the Water and Waste Water Superintendent may issue a twenty day permit allowing more frequent watering of a new lawn. Violating the ordinance is punishable by a $200.00 fine and up to 30 days in jail.
