What are the warning signs of fleas & ticks?
Animals with a flea infestation will bite and scratch themselves constantly. Also, be on the lookout for black specks or “flea dirt.” Use a flea comb regularly to spot an infestation early. A flea comb has tightly spaced teeth that remove fleas and flea dirt. Just dip the comb into soapy water to dislodge and drown the fleas. Ticks are harder to spot than fleas. They look like a small dark spot on your pet’s coat, but, once engorged with blood, ticks may feel like a small growth. Ticks are more common in dogs than cats.
