What are the various MIDAS Group Types?
A – The group type describes the groups relationship with the University. These group types have no actual bearing on the structure of the University, but they may affect how some systems treat the group. • Selective Campus Wide Groups – These are groups that may contain both Faculty/Staff accounts and Student LAN Accounts. Typically, these groups are assigned to the corresponding I: drive folder. • Offices – These are usually non-academic business units of the University. • Office Groups – Offices are commonly divided into smaller units. • Colleges – Academic Colleges of the University. • Departments – Academic Units underneath the various colleges. • Departmental Groups – Working units underneath the department. • College Groups – Generally groups that belong to a college, but are not really attached to a particular department.
