What are the various GPAs listed on my transcript?
Earned Hours – this GPA is the total of all courses taken in a specific semester. Prior grades are not averaged into this figure. Institutional “GPA Hours”- this GPA is the cumulative total of all your academic grades in courses taken at FAU. This GPA is used to compute your official university GPA, honors, academic standing, etc. Overall GPA – this GPA is the cumulative GPA of ALL of youracademic work (from FAU and other institutions). This GPA is not used for any purpose at FAU. Major GPA – this is the not kept or calculated by FAU or the College of Business, but it may be requested by future employers. Students may compute this GPA in several ways. All grades in business classes may be used, grades from the business core and major may be used, or perhaps just grades from your major should be used.
