The valid characters for registering a Chinese character domain name are as follows: • The domain name (to the left of the dot and excluding the extension) must have a minimum of: • Two native Chinese Characters OR • Three English, alphanumeric characters OR • One native Chinese character and one English character • The domain name can have a maximum of: • 15 native Chinese Characters OR • 31 English, alphanumeric characters • Combination of Chinese and /or English characters that adds up to no more than 63 ASCII characters (A single native Chinese character equates to 4 ASCII characters). • No special characters may be used except a hyphen • The domain name cannot begin or end with a hyphen You may choose to register your domain name in any or all 3 of the available Chinese character extensions, remembering that if you register your domain name in GB encoding you are simultaneously registering the Big5 version and vice versa.
