Electric Water Heater – the most common of all water heaters. It converts electricity into heat thus heating water that passes thru the heater. Although it can consume a lot of electricity, it is still the most common of all heaters, but instantaneous heaters have helped significantly reduce the cost of operating a water heater. Gas Heaters – this type of heater is very common in colder countries, it is used because of its fuel efficiency and most household has piped-in gas line, making it convenient to install such a heater. This type of heater uses gas to start a flame which heats the water that passes thru a heat exchanger (similar to a car radiator) built in the unit.
