I live in Belize and the seagrass that washes up on the beach is collected and used as either compost in gardens or used as fill. Also the seagrass is a good base for reconstructing a beach which has been damaged by erosion. Spread the seagrass around the beach you wish to rebuild, let it compact down and dry out a bit then cover it with sand, it’s considerably more resilient to erosion than just dumping more and more sand.
