What are the USB connectors on the I2C2002-1 Evaluation Board and the small “USB Adapter Board” ?
These connections are NOT for “USB”, but allow using a common USB cable to connect buffered I2C from the I2C2002-1 Evaluation Board to the “USB Adapter Board” via the P82B96 I2C bus buffer ICs. These connections should NEVER be mistakenly connected to a PC USB port or USB peripheral! The only possible I2C connection to your PC is through the I2CPortv2.0 parallel (printer) port adapter. Q: “SDA Stuck Low” error message results from Win-I2CNT menu when any I2C communication is attempted. A: Make sure the 4-pin I2C cable is properly connected between the I2CPortv2.0 adapter and the I2C2002-1 board. Disconnect the I2C cable from the I2CPortv2.0 adapter and read the 256×8 EEProm to verify adapter & software functionality. This error message may also result if the connected I2C2002-1 eval board is not getting 9v power.
