What are the unhealthy aspects of running/jogging?
Provided that you are sensible with your running there are few unhealthy aspects of running – there are more unhealthy aspects of having a sedentary life (sitting on the sofa watching TV). However if you don’t take care and don’t listen to your body telling you to rest a few days you might get: – Dehydration (be careful when running on hot days) – Over hydration (rare but it does happen) (be careful what you drink) – Hypothermia (wrap up warm in the cold) – Hyperthermia (avoid running in very hot temperatures) – Chafing (fold in the body like arm pits and also nipples)(apply vaseline and plasters) – Blisters (get the right trainers and socks) – Cuts and bruises (don’t fall over!) – Nettle rashes (x country esp. – avoid nettles) – Sore knees (get correctly padded and styled trainers) – Twisted Ankles (watch where you are running) – General accidents (watch where you are running) – Running specific injuries (rest if you feel sore, or tight, get the correct trainers) There is quite a list
