What are the U.S government aims in creating an office for Muslim societies at the State department?
Pandith: Before I delve into Secretary Hillary Clinton’s aims in creating such an office to communicate with the Muslim work, I would like to tell you briefly what I have been doing during the two years of my career prior to this new post. During the past two years I have focused on Muslim communities in Europe and learnt how to closely deal with the challenges and differences related to age groups, demographic differences and social backgrounds of Muslim immigrants. The first essential thing that I have learnt is how to identify people who we didn’t know about before, and the second, is how to work with the different players who have a real presence in a separate manner. I am telling you this because this is the methodology we adopt today to communicate with Muslim societies; a bottom up approach, which will ease our work as partners in ideas.
