Standard Working Hours The set standard for working hours in Qatar is 9 hours a day six days a week. The majority of, but not all, companies require staff to work 6 days a week, but government employees normally work 5 days a week and less hours. Maximum Working Hours The maximum hours that can be worked in one week in Qatar is 48 hours. However, in Ramadan this is reduced to 6 hours a day with a maximum of 36 hours a week. Working hours should include at least an hour for rest, eating and prayer. Even with overtime, employees should not work more than ten hours a day.
