What Are the Types of Wheelchair Lifts?
The two primary types of wheelchair lift that are used for automobiles are categorized based on their location: inside wheelchair lifts and outside wheelchair lifts specifically. An inside lift will typically be attached to the trunk of a car or varying locations on trucks and larger vehicles. Their primary purpose is to help you transport the lift to the trunk of your car to avoid lifting it. An outside automobile wheelchair lift looks like a small platform and is normally on the rear of a car or truck. It is designed to lift and store the wheelchair on the outside of the vehicle. Outside lifts can be cheaper than inside automobile lifts, sometimes running almost half of the price of the internal lift. They do, however, get exposed to the elements and can require more maintenance than the weather-shielded internal lifts.
