What are the types of sleep disorders?
The most common sleep disorders are: • Sleep Apnea – Sleep apnea is when you have one or more breathing pauses during sleep. Breathing pauses may last from seconds to minutes. When breathing pauses occur, it may affect crucial oxygen levels. It may prevent the person from entering deep sleep. • Narcolepsy – These are “sleep attacks” that can not be resisted. They occur in unusual and improper situations despite a full night’s sleep. • Nocturnal Myoclonus (Restless Leg Syndrome) – Nocturnal myoclonus are unpleasant sensations in your legs. There is an uncontrollable urge to move your legs during sleep which can be mistaken for insomnia.
